Delete your Foocat account
This page is for Foocat, the cat-food nutrition app by Fredrik Bryngelsson on the App Store and Google Play. You can use Foocat without an account. If you have signed in with Apple or Google, you can delete that account at any time, either in the app or by emailing us.
Delete it in the app
- Open Foocat and go to Profile.
- Open Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is deleted right away and every device signed in to it is signed out. This can’t be undone. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
Ask us to delete it
No access to the app any more? Email foocatcontact@gmail.com with the subject Delete my Foocat account. So that we can find your account and know the request comes from you:
- Send it from the email address of the Apple or Google account you signed in with.
- Tell us whether you signed in with Apple or Google.
- If you chose to hide your email when signing in with Apple, give us the forwarding address Apple created for Foocat. It is shown in Foocat under Profile → Account, and in your Apple Account settings under Sign in with Apple.
We’ll confirm by replying to that address and delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner. We’ll let you know when it’s done.
What gets deleted
- Your account, including the name and email address Apple or Google shared with us.
- Its sign-in methods: the link between Foocat and your Apple or Google account. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to end Foocat’s connection to your Apple ID.
- Its sessions: every device signed in to the account is signed out.
- Everything saved to it: your favorites, your scan history, and the cats only you are a member of, with their whole glucose log.
What is kept
- Cats you share with others. A shared cat stays with its other members, with its whole log, including what you logged. If you were its owner, the member who joined first becomes the owner.
- Your contributions to the shared product catalog. Product details, photos and ratings you have sent in stay part of the catalog everyone uses, as described in the terms of use. The link between them and your account is deleted.
- Backups. Deleted data can stay in our encrypted database backups for up to a year, until those backups expire.
- Diagnostics. Server log lines that mention your account’s random ID are deleted when our diagnostics service’s retention period ends. They never contain your name or email address.
- What’s on your phone, if we delete the account for you by email. Delete it in the app, or uninstall Foocat to remove it all. Deleting the account in the app removes it from the phone too.
Deleting only some of your data
You don’t have to delete the whole account. While you are signed in, scans, favorites, log entries and cats you delete in the app are deleted from your account too.
